Things I’m Overthinking This Week

I’m in this phase of life where prep work falls second to burnout and I’m equally proud of myself for putting together a snack shelf with better options and ashamed of the amount of single plastic use I’m supporting.

Fridge shelf holds individually wrapped food and plastic storage containers

I’m taking baby carrots from plastic wrappers and storing them in plastic containers for better visibility because if I throw away one more food item for spoiling, I’ll cry.

I read about how plastics are leeching chemicals into our food and worry that I’m killing my children but the plastic is already there.

I could throw out plastic containers but the sustainable choice is to reuse them and am I really making a difference or is this another capitalist ploy?

I just saw that sparkling water contains PFAS. It’s a bladder irritant. So now I’m wondering if we should’ve just been serving juice this whole time.

Do seasonings really contain heavy metals and arsenic?

I can barely keep a hearty indoor plant alive, let alone a garden. Even if I could, I’d water it with a rubber hose and don’t get me started about what is running off into our soil.
